PROFILE

Alfonsina Romero Waters is an Interior Designer, philanthropist, and the creative entrepreneur behind ARNY Alfonsina Romero Design, a NY boutique studio of 3 dedicated to creating spaces where beauty and purpose harmonize to engage the senses. With 12 years of experience in both hospitality and residential design, Alfonsina brings a perspective shaped by her background in public relations and event planning. With a BA in Communications from Brooklyn College, and minors in Marketing and Psychology, Alfonsina's interest in human-centered design manifested upon enrolling into Fashion Institute of Technology's (FIT), full-time interior design program. Alfonsina discovered the  world of hospitality FF&E procurement at an internship, working on model rooms and procurement for The Dream Hotel in New York's Meatpacking District and the W in Miami.  Through FF&E design roles at prominent New York design and architecture firms, Alfonsina developed a refined, global aesthetic along with technical knowledge of all the phases of design across several markets, including boutique hotels, and chains following brand standards. Of particular importance are her strong partnerships with resources, local and abroad as reflected in her past and current projects. Experiences overseas have also influenced Alfonsina's ideas. Her interest in geography sparked a lifetime of adventure.  Ask her about her travels to Gothenburg, a summer immersed in Nanjing, touring Valencia, winter in Capetown, with morning safaris and a roadside encounter with an ostrich on the way from Cape Agulhas. Inspiration is the beacon.

The Alfonsina Romero Design portfolio is diverse, spanning projects from restaurants in New York and Miami, Caribbean villas to luxury residences and multi-family developments. ARNY projects start with a foundation of strong concepts and a lot of time is spent on this phase. For Alfonsina, creating moments through  meaning are the key to  transforming spaces and enhancing the experiences within them.
